TCF (Test de Connaissance du Français)

The TCF (Test de Connaissance du Français) is an official French language proficiency test issued by the French Ministry of National Education and administered by France Éducation international.

At Alliance Française Bahrain, the only accredited examination center in the Kingdom of Bahrain, you can take the TCF to officially certify your French proficiency for academic, professional, or administrative purposes.

Upon completion of the test, you will receive an official certificate indicating your level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), from A1 to C2. The certificate is valid for two years.

When Should You Choose the TCF?

The TCF is recommended if you wish to:

1)Apply to a university or higher education institution.

2)Apply for a visa, residence permit, or French nationality.

3)Immigrate to Canada or Quebec.

4)Officially certify your French proficiency for an employer or a government authority.

5)Obtain an official assessment of your French level quickly.

Test Format

Depending on the TCF version you choose, the test may include:

Language structures (Grammar & Vocabulary)

Speaking

Writing

All examinations are conducted in accordance with the standards established by France Éducation international.

Results

Results are issued by France Éducation international a few weeks after the test date.

Your official certificate includes both your score and your corresponding CEFR level (A1–C2).
